Howard Goodall's "Invictus: A Passion"

Howard Goodall's

St. Luke's United Methodist Church welcomes British composer Howard Goodall to Houston to conduct the premier of his new composition for choir, soloists, and orchestra commissioned for the Chancel Choir by St. Luke's Friends of Music.

Described by Howard as "a woman's answer to the passion story," Invictus features texts from a range of poets, including Æmilia Lanyer née Bassano, whose verse from "Salve Deus Rex Judæorum" forms the central narrative thread.

Palm Sunday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Free admission.

No tickets or reserved seating for this event.
